Lady Of Shalott

Description

"She left the web, she left the loom,
She made three paces thro' the room,
She saw the water-lily bloom,
She saw the helmet and the plume,
She looked down to Camelot.
Out flew the web and floated wide;
The mirror cracked from side to side;
"The curse is upon," she cried
The Lady of Shalott

In the stormy east-wind straining,
The pale yellow woods were waning,
The broad stream in his banks complaining.
Heavily the low sky raining
Over towered Camelot;
Down she came and found a boat
Beneath a willow left afloat,
And round about the prow she wrote
The Lady of Shalott"

From the poem from 1833

Since I read the story about The Lady of Shalott, I'm in love with it. Both Emilie Autumn and Loreena McKennit have a song 'bout her and they inspired me to make this.
The girl is the Lady of Shalott and the boat behind her is how she went to Camelot. Sadly she died before she reached it.
The mirror is important in the story because the Lady only sees what happens outside through the mirror. When Lancelot came by, the Lady turned around and looked outside and then is when the mirror cracked. So that's why I put a broken mirror next to her.
The scroll, I don't really know why it is there. But when you look at the paintings about her, there're always books and such, so that's why it lies there.
Hope you like it!
